Founded in 1932, SME has over 60,000 members in 70 countries. The Society also sponsors 295 chapters, districts and regions, as well as 275 student chapters worldwide.

Founded in 1911, the American Society of Safety Engineers is the world's oldest and largest professional safety organization. Its 33,000 members manage, supervise and consult on safety, health and environmental issues in industry, insurance, government and education. ASSE has 12 divisions and 148 chapters in the United States and abroad.
The American Society for Training and Development is the worlds largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals. ASTD’s 70,000 members and associates come from more than 100 countries and thousands of organizations. ASTD marked it’s beginning in 1944 when the organization held its first annual conference. In recent years ASTD has widened the industries focus to connect learning and performance to measurable results.
