Homework will usually be assigned on three or four days of a regular school week. Students may complete the work in their personal math notebooks or on paper that may be maintained in a personal math folder, except for when an assignment is designated as a graded homework assignment (GHW). The work for a GHW will be submitted for a grade. A GHW may be thought of as a take home test on which students will work individually and independently. It is the responsibility of the student to complete and submit any missed GHWs as soon as reasonably possible. Assignments that are submitted late, without a valid reason, may have points deducted from the grade. Performance on GHWs will account for 50% of the final grade for the quarterly marking period.
Though many daily homework assignments are simply for practice, and not for a grade, completing all of them is vital for the student's understanding, knowledge, and mastery of the topic, and for the preparation to be successful on the daily assessments and GHWs.
