About Me

  • My Journey

I chose teaching as a career later in my life, enabling me to attack my studies and later interact with my students from a unique point of view.  As an adult and as a parent of a young child myself at the time of my certification classes, I feel that I was better prepared to develop a philosophy toward teaching that has remained with me throughout my years in the classroom.  This philosophy revolves around a single word:  RESPECT!

I have been part of the Southern Lehigh Middle School family since 1989 and have had the opportunity to teach different subjects at the sixth, seventh, and eigth grade levels.  I was a late bloomer and figured out "what I wanted to do when I grew up" after being married and starting a family (10 years after graduating from college the first time!).  This has greatly impacted my teaching philosophy.

Each of my students bring an extremely unique piece to my classroom.  Respect for the differences inherent in each child will be a theme for each school year.  I strive to treat each student fairly and equally, generating this respect, and allowing each student to make the choice to excel both academically and socially.
