I enjoy bringing parents in to share their areas of expertise when there is a way for us to connect it with our Intermediate School science curriculum. The Southern Lehigh School District's Strategic Plan includes a number of initiatives and strategies, including 'Expanding Partnerships with Parent Groups, Pre-K through Postsecondary Institutions...to enhance educational opportunity."
In science this year we will be learning about the following topics: Technology and Design; Plants and Animals; Earth's Resources; Earth and Space; Matter; Energy; Heat; Electricity; Motion; Ecosystems. If you are interested in sharing your knowledge by providing a demonstration or instructing a 'lesson' in our science lab, please feel free to contact me. I cannot promise that I will be able to bring everyone in, but I will do my best. I will have two science classes this year. If you are able to volunteer your time for both classes that would be ideal; however, it is not necessary.
Please be aware you may need special clearances if you wish to volunteer. You may check the Intermediate School Website and click on the 'Field Trip and other Volunteers" on the left side of the screen. Please feel free to contact the front office with any questions.
