    A Note from Mrs. Riegel

    Updated 1/17

Currently in PE, my 5th and 6th grade students are in the middle of a Badminton Unit and my 4th grade students are performing a fitness unit.

Health classes are in full swing. Fifth grade emphasis will be the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program taught by the Upper Saucon Valley Police Department, nutritional information and finally the puberty talk.  In sixth grade, the health curriculum includes personal safety, body systems (muscular, skeletal, urinary and reproductive systems), and HIV information.  My fourth graders will learn nutrition, drug information (medication, tobacco, and alcohol), body systems (nervous and integumentary: skin, hair and nails), and anger management.

If at any time, you as a student or parent have any concerns or questions, please contact me at 610-861-4040 x1280 or riegeld@slsd.org.

Save the date: Field Day is Thursday, June 1, 2017 with the rain date Friday, June 2.  Volunteers are always needed to help out with the event.  Clearances are necessary for all volunteers.  Information and a sign up google doc to volunteer will be sent out in May 2017.
