Overview of Process
General Guidelines Regarding Clearances
ACT 82 of 2012 requires that all individuals who work in an educational setting, public or private, must obtain a set of clearances that, in turn, are submitted to the prospective employer before the individual can begin any level of engagement with that organization. Our office is here to assist you with this process and it is imperative that you review the pertinent information on the left-hand side prior to contacting our office since these websites include critical information related to links, service codes, and directions to obtain and submit your clearances.
Accordingly, please make a note of the following information:
- To provide orderly and efficient service, our office will accept full sets of clearances by email: hr@slsd.org. We only accept walk-in clearances on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS between 8:30a.m.-3:30p.m. If these days do not work, you may make an appointment by emailing our office (hr@slsd.org), especially if we are closed on a Tuesday or Thursday due to a holiday, inclement weather, or are engaged in meetings. We are located in the Administration Building: 5775 Main Street, Center Valley, PA 18034.
- All required paperwork must be submitted together; we cannot accept partial packets or piecemeal clearances (e.g., one clearance per visit).
Note that any individual who is new to Southern Lehigh SD must submit clearances dated within 12 months of issue.
Please keep a copy of your clearances for your records; we won’t be able to provide copies once they’re submitted.
