Dr. Karen Trinkle
Superintendent of Southern Lehigh Schools
Dr. Karen Trinkle serves as Superintendent of the Southern Lehigh School District, bringing more than two decades of experience in public education as a school counselor, building administrator, and district leader. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her collaborative leadership, her ability to guide schools through growth and transition, and her commitment to student success.
She has previously served as the Director of Student and Community Services, High School Assistant Principal, and a secondary school counselor, experiences that allow her to bring both a student-centered and systems-level perspective to her leadership. In her district-level roles, Dr. Trinkle has overseen curriculum reform, expanded Advanced Placement and dual enrollment opportunities, strengthened student services, advanced school safety initiatives, and aligned instructional practices with district goals.
Dr. Trinkle’s leadership is defined by collaboration, transparency, and an unshakable belief in the power of community. She emphasizes that Southern Lehigh already has the dedication, and talent to move forward, and that trust and belonging are the district’s greatest strengths. Her approach centers on ensuring that every student remains at the heart of decision-making, while also fostering an environment where staff and families feel seen, heard, and valued. By cultivating belief in one another, and in the value of every voice, she seeks to unlock possibilities far greater than what any one individual can achieve alone, building a future so compelling that the entire community is inspired to work toward it together.

The Southern Lehigh Board of School Directors completed its evaluation of Dr. Karen Trinkle for her first year with our District as Superintendent.
