Hello! My name is Mrs. Kristin Hubbs and this is my first year at JPLIS. I am a 6th grade teacher and will be teaching three Core classes of Pre-Algebra A. Prior to this, I taught for ten years at Northern Lehigh SD. I began my career as a mathematics teacher at Northern Lehigh Middle School, teaching seventh and eighth grade, for five years. In 2011, I joined the Slatington Elementary family as a third grade teacher and I was also a 6th grade teacher for four years.
In May 2001 I graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing. After one year of using my degree I decided that was not the right career path for me. I went back to West Chester University and completed their teacher certification program in Elementary Education in May 2004. In January 2014, I earned my Master's Degree in Classroom Technology from Wilkes University. Furthermore, I am certified in Middle Level Mathematics and Middle Level Science, which allows me to teach grades 7-9.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended St. Maria Goretti High School. My husband and I were married in Jamaica in 2005. I have two children, a daughter named Chloe and a son named Ty. I also have two cats, Baxter and Rosie. In my free time I enjoy working out and spending time with my family and friends. I also collect ladybug items and I'm a HUGE fan of Jeep Wranglers!
