The Southern Lehigh Middle School is a community of just about 600 learners and staff.  Our building was built in 1966 with needed additions in the subsequent years.  When founded, the Middle School was home to three grades of learners, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade serving Coopersburg, Center Valley, and Lower Milford.  In 2009 our 6th grade was moved to their new home in the Joseph P. Liberati Intermediate School.  Presently, the Middle School serves as the home to our 7th and 8th grades.

We are, we believe, justifiably proud of our students and the many areas in which they engage each other, our local community and the world.  Southern Lehigh School District, through our Middle School, offers to our students a wide range of activities such as our PEAK  (Planned Entertainment Activities for Kids) activities that allow students to socialize and explore new vistas.  We also offer a variety of interscholastic seasonal sports, such as Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Lacrosse, Track and Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling which help our students enhance their teamwork skills and excel in competitions.  

Our academic classes and our curriculum support the Pennsylvania Core Standards, the purpose of which is to prepare the student for the challenges of the collegiate, business, and global marketplace.  Southern Lehigh Middle School supports these three areas through rigorous academics, career readiness, and our dedication to compelling world languages, such as Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese.  Students are also encouraged in their spirit of altruism, which they bring from their personal lives.  The Middle School provides outlets for service to the community through our Builders Club and Student Council.  Students are also served by initiatives such as the National Junior Honor Society, Project Success, Teen Counselors, and our newest addition, the Positive Behavior System (PBS).

Our Middle School teachers, following the advice of the Greek Philosopher, Plato, believes that all education has an emotional base and so are dedicated to making our learning environment one of respect and kindness where a student feels free to learn because they are safe, welcomed, and appreciated.
