We are excited to announce that we will be offering the ASVAB exam this year on March 19th. In the March session, ALL Juniors will take the exam if they have not done so already.
Please click the link to OPT-OUT for the March session before March 16th if you do not want your child to take the exam: ASVAB OPT OUT FORMSouthern Lehigh High School is proud to offer the ASVAB exam in coordination with the Career Exploration Program. The ASVAB test is much more than a military entrance exam and provides students with knowledge about their skills, interests, and requirements for the job they want, military or otherwise.
The ASVAB test is a multiple-aptitude battery that tests a student’s knowledge in eight areas including general science, arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, mathematics knowledge, electronics information, auto and shop information, and mechanical comprehension.
The test battery enables students to evaluate their skills, estimate their performance in academic and vocational endeavors, and identify potentially satisfying careers. The information received from the test is only for the student’s benefit and will not be shared with military recruiters unless the student indicates that he/she is interested in the military.
This test is primarily offered to 11th-grade students, but any students interested in participating are welcome to do so.
Students will be excused from classes to take the exam.
