Pennies for Patients

Thank you for all of your donations for the 2018 campaign! We surpassed our goal and raised a grand total of $13,004.43!  Way to go SLHS!
Since 1994, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 10 million elementary, middle and high school students throughout the country. The funds, collected during a three-week period, benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Everyone who participates is a winner!

Students across the country are collecting pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters during the Pennies for Patients campaigns benefiting the Society (Pennies.Org). LLS: Student Series

Our Current Campaign

  • Our foucs this year is to represent the heros who are fighting against cancer! And every hero needs a squad to support them.
Students will form their own hero squad consisting of 10 students and each squad will have a teacher leader. During our campaign, each squad will race against each other trying to raise the most amount of money. The top two teams will get to participate in an a Ninja Warrior Race in our celebrataroy pep rally on March 8th. All other squads will participate in different tiers based on on how much money they raised.
    Tier 1: Potato Poop
    Tier 2: Egg Roulette
    Tier 3: Dance Battle
    Tier 4: Ninja Warrior Race
Along with teams raising money individually, collectively, our school goal is to raise $10,000! Help us support the LLS foundation and donate today!

Giving Back to Our Community

  • Raising over $10,000 for our Pennies for Patients campaign this year was a huge feat! The students wanted to take our efforts a step further and give back directly to kids fighting cancer in our area. We decided to create 'Hero Bags' after getting donations from families and buisnesses in our area. The bags included items such as: coloring books, socks, hand sanitizer, crayons, tissues and books that children can use while they're going through treatment. These bags were put together by our stuents and even had help from some of the teachers. The afternoon was complete with an ice cream social and a special guest thanking us for our efforts after beating the fight herself. The students made inspirational cards and made more capes for our heors. The entire event was wrapped up when our Pennies for Patients officers were able to deliver the bags directly to Lehigh Valley Hospital.
