STARTALK 2017: Monkey King Journey to the West
Now accepting applications
Registration Deadline April 28, 2017
Location: Albright College
Join us for an exciting 12 day intensive non-residential program to learn Mandarin language and Chinese culture. This year’s program enhances the Beijing Opera elements of the program plus there will be a three day workshop by Chinese puppeteer expert Zhang Hua Hua. Thirteen Chinese language teachers and artists will be providing a wonderful opportunity for students to work with experts in the fields of Chinese martial arts, puppetry, theater, music, and language.
The Berks County Intermediate Unit’s summer language program, STARTALK 2017 – Monkey King Journey to the West, is funded by the National Security Language Initiative (NSLI). NSLI was created in 2006 to promote the learning of critical languages.
Students will participate in hands-on experiences throughout the duration of the camp. A closing recital for parents, families, and community members to showcase student work will be held on June 29, 2017.
