Act 66 of 2021 - Student Grade Level Retainment notification
The Pennsylvania General Assembly has passed legislation that will allow parents and students new options concerning the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. On June 30, Governor Wolf signed Act 66 of 2021 (Act 66) into law. Parents of students with disabilities who attained age 21 during the 2020-2021 school year or who will attain age 21 during this summer can elect an additional year of education during 2021-2022. Parents of all students, and students themselves if they are 18, can elect retention during the 2021-2022 school year at the grade level they were in during the 2020-2021 school year. The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) will post the Act 66 of 2021 Student Grade Level Retainment Notification Form for making either of these elections available on its website on July 6, 2021.
