Grade 6 Mathematics

Grade 6 Mathematics is a course that focuses on 6th grade standards only.  Students placed into Grade 6 Mathematics will have an opportunity to place into Extended Grade 7 Mathematics based upon a comprehensive review of data similar to the one used for Extended Grade 6 Mathematics.  Students in Extended Grade 7 Mathematics, upon successful completion of the course, will progress to Middle School Middle School Algebra I in their 8th grade year.  

Extended Grade 6 Mathematics

Students entering 6th grade have the opportunity to place into Extended Grade 6 Mathematics, which is a course that includes 6th and 7th grade math standards.  As shared in our placement letters, recommendations for placement into Extended Grade 6 Mathematics are based on a comprehensive review of multiple data sources to ensure that one single data point can not determine placement.  Students placed into Extended Grade 6 Mathematics, upon successful completion of the course, will progress to Middle School Algebra I in their 7th grade year.
