    TOPIC: What is Social Distancing?

Social distancing is a way to keep people from interacting closely or frequently enough to spread an infectious disease.

    Key Points to Social Distancing:

    • Stay home as much as you can
    • Avoid public spaces
    • Keep at least 6 feet between you and others if you must go out
    • Don't attend or host large gatherings
    • Avoid using mass transit

Can I have a few friends or immediate family visit me?

Stay home and limit in-person interactions with others as much as possible. Try to use virtual ways to connect as an alternative, such as video chat. Minimize travel and postpone long trips.

How should I handle grocery shopping?

If possible, try going to the grocery store early in the morning or on off-hours to avoid crowds.

    What about Delivery?

You want to avoid contact with others, so a good tip would be to have the delivery person leave the food outside your door. You should also be sure to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds after opening the food packaging and before eating.

Can we still go to the park or for walks because it’s outdoors?

YES!!! It is extremely important for everyone in the family to get out and get fresh air. If at a park or similar setting continue to maintain 6 feet away from others and be mindful about the use of playground equipment. (Check park websites for possible closures.)

Sunlight and exercise will help maintain your physical and mental well-being and limit the burden of these short-term changes.
