Educational Standards
-
Educational standards are benchmarks that define what students should know and be able to do by specified grade levels. The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires under Chapter 4 that school districts within Pennsylvana align curriculum to state standards. If national standards are more rigourous, schools within Pennsylvania have the option to align curriculum with national standards, as long as the state standards are also being addressed.
